QUESTION:
I would be interested in obtaining information concerning the market for yellow perch fingerlings that are already trained to take a commercial diet. I've heard estimates of 0.50 US per fingerling. Any contacts or related information would be appreciated.

ANSWER:
$0.50 per fingerling in the US is a greatly inflated rate. Most commercial growers can afford to pay about $0.10/fingerling, although some people are paying as much as $0.26/fingerling delivered in newly established recirculation systems. These prices are for the upper midwestern USA.
Some people who sell fish for recreational pond stocking do charge $0.50 per fingerling, but the market is very small.
