The objective of the workshop is to coordinate efforts to develop linkage maps for the following aquaculture species: oysters, catfish, salmonid, shrimp and tilapia. These efforts are stimulated by the likely inclusion of these species in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Research Project (NRSP-8) which will help to support coordination efforts.

International collaborators are welcome and encouraged to participate in the workshop, and the research, although USDA funding will be limited to U.S. laboratories.
