Globally the development of aquaculture industries has been driven by
investment in science and technology. In southern Africa aquaculture
research and development have resulted in the establishment of
culture technologies for a variety of aquatic species and the
identification of further opportunities for development. The Fourth
Congress of the Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa provides a forum for researchers, industry and other role-players to review
progress, coordinate activities and develop a common vision for the
development of aquaculture in the southern African region.
