This is the first announcement for the Third intensive

Course on Marine Fish Culture techniques, to be conducted at the Center of Aquaculture and Marine Science of North Catholic University, Coquimbo, Chile. The Center is a leading marine aquaculture research institution in Chile and Latin America. The course is limited to 15 students from Chile and Latin America.

This year's course will provide hands on training in the fish laboratory for the culture of live food (rotifer-artemia), culture of larvae, standard inspection procedure for detection of certain pathogens in marine fish, food elaboration, and provide lectures from 7 different instructors with international and national experience in marine fish culture. The lectures and discussions will cover the topics of Marine fish farming in Europe, hatchery outline, techniques for maturation, spawning, larval rearing, growout production techniques, nutrition, feeds and feeding strategies, health management for flounder and other marine fish. Additionally, we are planning one day study tour to a commercial Chilean flounder fish hatchery.
