AQUAROM '98
FISHERIES MANAGEMENT IN THE DANUBE RIVER BASIN

Aquarom '98 will be the second edition of the international symposium organised at Galati by "Gheorghe Ionescu-Sisesti" Agricultural and Forestry Science Academy, "Dunarea de Jos" University of Galati, Romanian Fish Culturers and Fishermen Association and Fisheries Research Centre of Galati, in cooperation with prestigious institutions from Eastern and Western Europe.
Objectives:
- to facilitate the meeting of specialists in the field of fisheries management in the Danube river basin for exchanging information concerning ecosystems status, evaluation methodologies, analyzing the constraints and the problems associated with the fisheries activities;
- to analyze the institutional, legal and training framework, with impact on management of fisheries' resources from Danube river basin;
- to identify the necessary actions to improve the Danube fisheries' management and the methods for their implementations.
