Abstract:
The Crustacean Artemia is used as a live feed in shrimp industry. Its non selective feeding habit is exploited in the present study to use it as a vehicle in stimulating growth of P. monodon post larvae after bioencapsulating with hormone feed particles were bound with progesterone encapsulated with poultry yolk and fed to Artemia. The hormone bioencapsulated Artemia was used as feed as well as growth stimulant to the shrimp P. monodon larvae. From the results, it is obvious that progesterone encapsulated Artemia could efficiently stimulate growth of P. monodon post larvae, us revealed by morphological as well as biochemical studies.
