INTERNATIONAL HARMONIZATION FOR AQUACULTURE

DRUGS AND BIOLOGICS

A workshop on "International Harmonization for Aquaculture Drugs

and Biologics" was held following the World Aquaculture Society

meeting in Seattle last February. A follow-up meeting is planned for

Aquaculture '98 in Las Vegas on February 15, 1998. A subcommittee

was formed at the Seattle meeting to identify and report on "level

playing field issues", and I am acting as the contact person for that

subcommittee.

In preparation for the Aquaculture 98 meeting, I would like your

responses to the following questions:

1. What are the most significant concerns of your organization

toward ensuring an international level playing field for

Aquaculture drugs and biologics?

2. Who is the most appropriate contact person in your organization

with regard to this issue?

3. Does your organization consider the availability of drugs and

biologics for aquaculture producers and the ability to market

treated animals to be a priority?

4. Any additional comments?

Please send your response to me at your earliest convenience to the

above numbers and they will be summarized for presentation at the

February 15, 1998 meeting.
