Following restructuring and adjustment as regards the Marine Science Programme of UNESCO, the production of the International Marine Science Newsletter has been changed. To make more use of the new means of communication in relation to the reorganization and decentralization of the Marine Programme of UNESCO the publication will now be offered electronically. The IMS Newsletter will therefore be transformed into an electronic journal with regional offspring. These regional newsletters may be produced both as electronic and printed versions. They will, as far as possible, make use of existing regional newsletters.
The electronic IMS Newsletter will be available through the IOC Internet World Wide Web page (http://www.unesco.org/ioc) and it will be produced by IOC in co-operation with other relevant undertakings/units of UNESCO, such as the one for Coastal Regions and Small Islands.
