SHRIMP TRIBUNAL POSTINGS

The proceedings of the 1997 session of the Shrimp Tribunal at the UN Commission on Sustainable Development are now posted to the Tribunal's website. This includes presentations on Thailand, Ecuador, and Malaysia, as well as industry perspectives on the role of governments in enforcing laws that have the potential for making shrimp aquaculture sustainable. Also included is an analysis of the shrimp embargo, TEDs, and the Endangered Species Act. A bill of particulars on the United States' shrimp industry will soon be added.

The Tribunal's website contains reports from country studies, other points of view, NGO perspectives, and will initiate an update section this Fall.

The site can be found at <http://www.earthsummitwatch.org/shrimp>.
