Syndel Laboratories Gains Ovaprim Registration in China:
Aquaculture Product sales in China projected at $200,000 in first year, up to $3,000,000/year in five years.
Vancouver, British Columbia, November 19, 1997 - Syndel Laboratories Ltd. announced the registration for its proprietary Ovaprim product in China, effective immediately. The product registration represents the culmination of more than 4 years efforts in working with the Ministry of Agriculture in Beijing and Syndel's Marketing Affiliate in China, Shanghai Pharmaceutical Company.
Ovaprim is recognized around the world as the most effective spawning hormone for freshwater fish. Ovaprim has provided a global benchmark for the spawning of many fish species since its introduction in 1979.
The Chinese aquaculture business has existed for centuries. With a
population of 1.2 billion people, the need to be more efficient in food
production has become an important issue in China. "The introduction of Ovaprim into the Chinese market provides us with an excellent opportunity to expand into the Chinese Aquaculture industry" said Monty Little, company President. "This opens the door for us to identify the market needs and application for other Syndel products to round out the package for Chinese aquaculturists".
