THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MARINE ORNAMENTAL AQUACULTURE

A symposium on the cultivation of reef organisms for the ornamental trade could help concentrate presently scattered efforts in this area, and would bring environmental, economic, social and technical issues clearly into focus.
The intent of the conference is to include both fish and invertebrate species, including ornamental fishes, corals, "live rock", giant clams and ornamental shrimps. Policy issues in resource abundance and, inventory, stock collection, sales and distribution, as well as multiple us conflicts, will also be included. Target audience will include aquaculturists, marine fish collectors and distributors, researchers and conservation biologists, environmentalists, hobbyists, public and private aquarium administrators, resource managers and personnel from multi-lateral and bi-lateral assistance organizations.
