QUESTION:
I'm planning to evaluate different diets for feeding the marine ornamental shrimp broodstocks and would include live Artemia and frozen Artemia enriched w/ HUFA. Is there any recommendations on which brand(s) of enriched Artemia? Thank you for your help.

I suggest you read also the paper of Naessens et al (1997), Aquaculture 155, p87-102 on penaeid maturation using Artemia biomass. Actually we are running quite some experiments on shrimp using experimental enrichment formulations.
In case you want to use Artemia nauplii, or live biomass produced in
intensive systems, and enrich them by yourself I suggest you use the MARILA product (Artemia booster specifically for maturation) from Inve Inc.

This is really a loaded question. By being the marketing arm for San
Francisco Bay Brand in the aquaculture arena we are certainly biased
towards our brand, Omega Enriched SFBB. This product is cyrogenically frozen and we can alter the enrichment formulation to meet any specific requirement you may have. Presently we are concentrating on using SELCO and MARILA, enrichment and maturation formulations developed by INVE AQUACULTURE.
The enriched biomass is stuffed with:
SUPER SELCO-400 mg/g dwt sum omega 3 HUFA's
MARILA-consisting of EFA's, phospholipids, steroids, carotenoids and vitamins.
