Purpose :
The Queensland Department of Primary Industries together with the SEAFDEC Aquaculture Department and the University of the Philippines in the Visayas convenes the International Forum on the Culture of Portunid Crabs with emphasis on Scylla species. The aim of this conference is to provide a forum where different aspects of portunid crab culture can be presented and discussed in a pleasant atmosphere in a famous resort island in northern Panay, the Philippines.
Scientific Sessions :
Biology, ecology and physiology; seed production; culture systems; nutrition and feeds; disease and environmental issues; genetics and biotechnology; socio-economics, processing and marketing. A special session to discuss industry concerns will be conducted.
