ACUTE TOXICITY OF NITRITE TO POSTLARVAE AND JUVENILE OF PENAEUS INDICUS

E. Olivares, A. Yule

Knowledge of a species tolerance limits, to poor water quality and the maintenance of adequate water quality are prerequisites for successful culture. A major problem in intensive culture systems is the built up of toxic nitrogenous waste, such as nitrite. The current study aims to dermine both the acute toxicity and corresponding safe level of nitrite in relation to the postlarval and juvenile Penaeus indicus.
