COMMENTS 1:

We have some available, but only a limited quantity and only one or two species. I would suggest contacting either Reed Mariculture in California or Innovative Aquaculture Products (IAP) in British Columbia:

COMMENTS 2:

Just thought I'd pass on a promotion that Reed Mariculture is doing with their Tetraselmis algae paste. This product is fed in small quantities (5 ml/mt/day) during the critical zoea stages and has been shown to help several hatcheries overcome "zoea syndrome" related mortalities. You can find more information (and a feeding table) at their website at http://www.seafarm.com.

COMMENTS 3:

I suspected the zoea problem is a nutritional problem associated with maternal affect. The quality of the egg and consequently, the development of early stages in animals are often affected by poor care given to the mother who contributes all the nutritional requirements and therefore control all development of the early life stages. This may include the proper development of digestive enzymes, hormones and physiological structure. I suspect that the main problem may be that the larvae need a more digestible feed stuff due to poorly developed digestive and absorption systems (such as enzyme or physiological structures such as stomach or intestine etc.) and Tetraselmis may serve that purpose. So this may be not so much as Tetra has better nutrition, but that the animal can handle this food item better.
