I INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON AQUACULTURE AND I WORKSHOP ON TILAPIA CULTURE
10-13 May 2000, Havana, Cuba
In Latin America, Cuba is one of the main producers of freshwater fishes cultivated in both marine and freshwater environments and considering its high yields, the Tilapia is one of the most important species.
At present, the research work on aquaculture in general and on tilapia specifically is very well experienced and is now a strong support for the development of aquaculture in the country.
The Centro de Preparacion Acuicola Maposton (CPAM), is the centre in Cuba that lead research, training and production of freshwater species and is planning the celebration of the I International Symposium on Aquaculture and the I Workshop on Tilapia Culture", to be held in Havana, Cuba, 10-13 May 2000.
The Organizing Committee is very pleased to address you this invitation to present a paper in the Symposium/Workshop, that could be a good moment to exchange experiences and criteria on general and particular topics related to aquaculture.
The subject areas that will be discussed are:

- New trends in fish breeding
- Aquaculture farms management
