Abstract:

Rearing of common carp fry to fingerlings in specially fabricated pens was attempted, adopting improved method of manuring. The fry of common carp (0.15 g average weight) attained fingerling stage (6.8 g average weight) within a short rearing period of 14 days, with a high survival rate of 72.41%. Better survival and faster growth of fry to fingerlings is attributed to high zooplankton production in pens.
