QUESTION:
I want to know about the shrimp's eggs washing equipment commonly used
for maturation (commercial scale).
We got MBV problems and we think that if we can wash the
eggs before hatching it should reduce the MBV infection.

COMMENTS:
The equipment is so simple that everyone can make it, just a 20 liter bucket with a 85 micron mesh; this bucket holds the eggs or nauplii. The bucket should be inside a container half the tall of the bucket, harvest the eggs or nauplii in the bucket ( no more than 50,000), and submerge the bucket in a container with 20 ppm of iodine for five minutes. Then transfer the bucket to another container and rinse them with a flow-through of water over 10 minutes. The water used to rinse the nauplii, should be passed through, 0.5 micron filters and U.V. filters.
The amount of buckets depends of the amount of production of your lab.
