MARINE MICROALGAE FOR FEEDING ARTEMIA

QUESTION:

I'd like to get some opinions on the best marine microalgae for growing
brine shrimp.  I've heard that some people use Nannochloropsis but it's
so small (2-3 microns) that I'm surprised brine shrimp would eat it.  I've also
heard T-ISO and Chaetoceros.  My guess would be a combination of
Tetraselmis (8-15 microns) and Isochrysis (5-6) microns.  I'm also
curious about whether larvae and adults should be fed the same diet or
if you would use different algae at each phase.

COMMENTS:

In nature Artemia habitats are "normally"....dominated by Dunaliella sp. However, with that said the GSL in Utah recently has been colonized by pennate diatoms, centric diatoms, Dunaliella and a very small green algae yet to be identified.  The Artemia sub-adults and nauplii had a very difficult time ingesting the pennates.

All the species you mentioned will work.
