Abstract :
In this paper were compared a live diet (Tetraselmis
suecica), an inert diet (rice bran) and a third one composed by both diets.
The following parameters were studied: growth, survival and produced
biomass. The culture type experimented was intensive batch system, during 13
days. The Artemia final length was significantly better for diets that had
T. suecica. The Artemia final biomass was significantly different only
between the exclusively live and inert diets. The survival wasn’t
significantly different among the various diets. Significant differences
weren’t found between the exclusive live diet and the one composed by T.
suecica + rice bran. Thus, we can affirm that the last one is economically
more advantageous. The inert diet obtained the lowest productive
values, which means that it isn’t advisable in this culture system.
