World
Aquaculture 2002
Dear aquaculturist,
Preparations for the World Aquaculture 2002 meeting in Beijing, China (April
23-27) are well under way. A full schedule of sessions has been planned and
can be viewed at the WAS web site (http://www.was.org).
Follow the link from the "News" bar at the right hand side to view
the schedule.
The deadline for abstracts for the meeting has now been extended to January
31. However, most of the sessions are filling up fast so submit your
abstract as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Abstracts can be
submitted online at
http://www.was.org/main/AbstractForm.asp?ConfCode=WA2002&ConfName=World%20Aquaculture%202002
or print the Abstract Transmission form at
http://www.was.org/Meetings/China_2002/Pages/China_AbsTranFormP1.html.
Also on the news bar is a link to the Asian Pacific Chapter web page. The
APC is providing awards for the best abstracts in each of the seven
program sections. The awards are a student membership to WAS and the Asian
Pacific Chapter for 1 year, or, for students who are already members,
refunded registration for the Beijing meeting. If you are a student, make
sure that you get your abstracts in by the January 31 deadline to be entered
for these awards. For more details go to the Asian Pacific Chapter Page and
scroll to the News section at the bottom.
Finally, we at the World Aquaculture Society would like to send our best
wishes to you and your families for a happy, peaceful and prosperous 2002
and look forward to seeing you in San Diego for Aquaculture America 2002 or
in Beijing at World Aquaculture 2002.
Dan Fegan,
WAS Networking Sub-Committee
