Aquaculture Europe 2002

October 16-19, 2002, Trieste, Italy


The conference theme, “Seafarming Today and Tomorrow” focusing on the status and future of marine aquaculture production, will be reflected in several plenary, parallel and poster sessions (some with authors present). These sessions will cover 3 conference days.

In addition, 2 workshops are scheduled on October 16, 2002, i.e. the day prior to the conference:
-Seafarming and Health Management, which is being organised in cooperation with the European Association of Fish Pathologists (EAFP) and
-Certification in European Aquaculture, with financial support from the European Commission, Directorate-General Fisheries.
To increase the interactions with the producers’ community involved simultaneous interpretation will be available.

As the conference theme already indicates, specific attention will be given to:
-       Research and technologies for sustainable aquaculture;
-       Adapting to changing markets;
-       Interactions with the environment;
-       Policies and resource management;
-       Recent developments in the domestication of new species, and
-       Product quality, safety and public image.
