This special workshop, which is mainly addressed to
producers, is being supported by the European Commission Directorate General
of Fisheries. The workshop will address the key issues related to the
formulation, implementation and effectiveness of certification, labelling,
quality marks and other legislative requirements. Internationally, these
product-based communications have expanded considerably in aquatic foods
over the recent past and it is increasingly important for the industry to
respond positively to the challenges that they set.
This workshop will address the key concepts and the
implications associated with these measures and will provide a forum to
discuss and debate how these might be implemented to the best advantage of
aquaculture producers
