NEW Journal in 2004: Aquatic Resources, Culture and Development
CABI
Publishing is pleased to announce the launch of a new review
journal, 'Aquatic Resources, Culture and Development'.
Edited by Professor James Muir (University of Stirling, UK), Aquatic
Resources, Culture and Development will provide a new and interconnected
body of knowledge to support the management of aquatic resources for human
benefit in the developing and developed worlds.
It will go beyond the narrower biotechnical scope of most aquatic
journals to present the sector in the wider context in which understanding
increasingly lies. It will provide an interface for the issues of:
* Human communities
* Ecology and ecosystems
* Biology
* Ethics
* Development and planning
* Economics
* Marketing
* Technology
* Management
* Policy
Multidisciplinarity, within and between scientific, social and economic
areas, and in the coverage of management and development, will provide
important distinguishing features. Contributions in any of these fields will
be welcomed, but particularly so where they develop the
interconnections, explain the ways in which options can be defined for
choice or for management action, and describe impacts or their potential.
We would gladly receive your ideas for reviews. Send them to Professor James
Muir at j.f.muir@stir.ac.uk.
