As with Larvi'91, our original expectations were again surpassed and we had to add an extra day to the scientific programme to be able to cover all inputs.
The large attendance was a clear proof of the importance of larviculture as a vital segment in the aquaculture production process. This conference offered a lot of opportunities for scientific, technical, and social interactions as well as plans for future cooperation and exchange, expecially through the setting up at this conference of the "International Working Group on Larviculture". We are indebted to our King, Albert II of Belgium, for his patronage of Larvi'95.
We thank the sponsors who have contributed to this symposium, the speakers and the poster contributors for the timely submission of their abstracts and mini-papers, the editors of "Larvi'95" for finalizing in time the impressive book of short communications and abstracts, the poster rapporteurs for their efforts to study the mini-papers and the poster displays in preparation of their poster review presentation, the chairpersons for accepting the task of supervizing sessions and keeping these within the time limits, and finally the staff and students from the organizing institutes who assisted with the many practical aspects of preparing this event.
Thanks to the efforts of Prof.Dr.Geert De Soete, Director of the Academic Computing Center of the Ghent University, and our PhD student ir. James de Caluwe we have been able to use modern information technologies to prepare this CD-Rom review of the Larvi'95 conference.
