Abstract:
Atlantic halibut, Hippoglossus hippoglossus, L., eggs were fertilized under 16 different combinations of constant temperature (2, 4, 6, 8 C) and salinity (27, 30, 33, 36 ppt) with duplicates. Fertilization rates and egg viability rates were exceeded 71% and 90%, respectively, for all treatments and replicates. Preliminary examination of the data suggests no effects of temperature or salinity on fertilization or viability rates, within the investigated range.
