QUESTION:

In solar saltworks, which bacteria Artemia predates: lightly, moderately or strongly halophilic bacteria?

***************

COMMENTS:

I would tend to believe that in light or moderate salinities wherein
halophilic bacteria are present with halotolerant algae that this would be the area of most ingestion.  In extreme salinity conditions where
halophiles dominate I would believe that the feeding rates of Artemia drop off considerably and they are barely able to survive.  If you look at Artemia from very high salinities (over 220 ppt) you find them much smaller than their lower salinity counterparts.
