Fish meal is one of the
important and valuable ingredients in fish feed as known. Fish meal is
limited and an expensive row material but nutritional quality is suitable
for fish feed with its amino acid and fatty acid composition.
Replacement of fish meal by
several ingredients has been one of the important subjects for fish
nutritionist in recent years. These ingredients have to be close to fish
meal with their nutritional compositions and cheaper, more easy to supply
and available for fish feed process.
Yeast (
Saccharomyces cerevisea) is one these alternative and replacement
ingredient for fish feed with its nutritional composition and price. Present
study has been focused on effects of yeast to digestibility of Gilthead Sea
Bream in several ratios.
Fish were placed in tanks, which
were prepared for digestibility studies with special design for
fecal collection. Replacement ratio has been determinate 10 to 20 % of fish
meal. Fish weight has been around 100 g. with 25 fish per 1m3 to
cylinder conic polyester tank in the beginning of the study. Fish
were adopted to study tanks and fed with control diet for one week.
Fecal collection has began in the second week and samples were put in deep
freeze
(-20 °C).
Blood samples have been taken at the end of 4`h
week.
Dry matter, acid-soluble ash,
crude protein, lipid and cellulose analyses have done at feed and fecal.
Blood samples were analyzed for such as triglyceride, glucose, amylase by
automatic analyzer. Results of statistical analyses has been discussed in
paper.
