1.3.3.2 Conditioning of the biofilter
Starter cultures for biofilters can be obtained from commercial companies or universities. Nomally they consist of concentrated bacteria suspended in water. Let’s assume that such a bottle contains 1010 bacteria per ml.
A good bacterial density to start with in the biofilter is 106 bacteria per ml.
