scope | to top of page |
Ten years after the first organisation of larvi'91 in August 1991, much progress has been made in various disciplines of larviculture research. The industrial production of fish fry, shrimp postlarvae and mollusc seed has further expanded and is presently valued at several hundred million US dollars annually. The aim of larvi 2001 is to bring researchers and professionals together to evaluate recent progress, identify problem areas and stimulate future cooperation in research and industrial production of freshwater as well as marine fish and shellfish larvae. In view of the positive reactions to the previous larvi symposia, location and format have been maintained for larvi 2001.
